OUR JOURNEY

Active Opportunities was created in 2012 to provide children with a disability access to sporting programs on a Saturday morning.

Our programs launched in the northern beaches of Sydney, quickly gaining support from the local community, partnering with local football club Manly United FC to increase our reach, awareness and community impact.

In 2018, we launched our Ku-ring-gai based program, partnering with local football club Lindfield FC to provide young aspiring footballers from the Northern Suburbs of Sydney a chance to be involved.

Across both programs players are provided a full playing kit, becoming part of their local football club.

In 2019 Active Opportunities participated in its first ‘ football4all gala day’ hosted by Football NSW. The gala day tested our players against other disability football teams during a great day of fun, football and friends.

The future is bright, with Active Opportunities looking to extend their current program offerings to include players over the age of 12 years old, along with expansion into different regions of Sydney.
